You now know that we love iconic cars, and here too we have a fantastic car with a great story.

Back to the basics of AMG; Herr Aufrecht and Melcher from Großaspach were engineers at Mercedes and had more ideas than were popular within the confines of the group. They were full of ideas, from improved engines to further developed aerodynamics. They participated in the 300 Hours of Spa with their own 24SEL 'Red Pig' AMG. Twenty years later this resulted in AMG offices all over the world, each with their own touch. The cool thing about AMGs from that time is that anyone could think of anything crazy, and AMG made it. In 1999, AMG was bought out for 51% by Mercedes, becoming part of the large group and therefore following their rules again. That makes the AMGs from before the takeover (pre-merger AMGs) so popular. The real raw imaginations of the boys from Großaspach.

The R129, the SL model that was very popular in the heyday of AMG, is extremely popular among AMG enthusiasts today. Classy design, created by the world-famous Italian designer Bruno Sacco. This is accompanied by fairly modern driving characteristics and fantastic old-school looks. Of course, Mercedes already had influence with the ex-employees due to mutual interests. For example, the SL60 with a 6.0 V8 was not allowed to exceed the SL600 in terms of power, which had almost 400 HP. For example, it says on paper that the car has approximately 375 HP. In reality, this has been tested and is of course still well above 400 HP.

Only a few hundred of the SL60 were made. This monster that makes for a real adventure above 3500RPM is one you are used to from us. Completely in first paint, 3 German owners and very well documented. The stack of documentation is about as thick as the front grille. All this together with the original AMG set of wheels makes for a fantastic neck turner.
